I'm nothing if not honest - so let's go through disclaimers about recipe results, food safety, affiliates, sponsorships, commenting, and accessibility.
Recipe Result Disclaimer
While I want everyone to have a stellar experience with my recipes, there is only so much I can do from my end to help you achieve the best results.
High Protein Kitchen is not responsible for your outcome of recipes on this site (or linked to from other sources). There are a wide variety of reasons that a recipe may not turn out the way you want it to, including but not limited to:
- The reader's general cooking/baking ability
- Expired ingredients
- Improper measurements
- Lack of adjustment for elevation
- Unsuitable ingredient swaps
- Inaccurate temperature conversion
- Pets adding their own fur in efforts to help 😉
The good news is that I'm here to help! Check out all the posts in the Baking Basics series on our sister site Stress Baking for tips and tricks for people who are new or experienced in the kitchen.
Food Safety Disclaimer
Readers of High Protein Kitchen are assuming full responsibility for their own safety using kitchen utensils and appliances to avoid bodily injury.
It is also the responsibility of the reader to practice the appropriate food safety measures to avoid illness, as well as avoiding any foods that may cause allergic reactions.
Some examples of food and kitchen safety are:
- Cook to a minimum temperature of 165°F (74°C)
- Do not use the same utensils on cooked food that previously touched raw meat
- Wash hands after touching raw meat
- Don't leave food sitting out at room temperature for extended periods
- Never leave cooking food unattended
- Use oils with high smoking point to avoid harmful compounds
- Always have good ventilation when using a gas stove
Please see more guidelines at USDA.gov.
Preparation and Bake Time Disclaimer
The recipes you make from High Protein Kitchen may take you more or less time to prepare and bake or cook than what is indicated on the recipe card. It is all dependent on your own personal experience, comfort level and circumstances - if you're frosting a cake with a baby on your arm, it may take you longer than me (and also in that scenario, gigantic high five to you for being so awesome).
Nutrition Disclaimer
The nutrition information listed in the recipe cards found on High Protein Kitchen is generated by an online API that recognizes ingredient names and amounts and makes calculations based on the serving size information input by HPK.
This nutritional information is provided as a general guideline, but is not evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration and should not be treated as official calculations.
Please consult a doctor or licensed nutritionist if you have concerns or specific questions about your own dietary needs.
Affiliate Disclaimer
Any purchases made via affiliate links on this site helps support High Protein Kitchen to keep it going - so thank you!
Amazon. High Protein Kitchen is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to products on Amazon.com. If you purchase an item by clicking to Amazon.com via one of my affiliate links, I will receive a small commission - at no additional cost to you.
Sponsored Posts Disclaimer
High Protein Kitchen is lucky enough to collaborate with brands to create original recipes and posts for products I use and recommend. You will always see a blurb at the top of those posts to indicate they are sponsored.
Commenting Disclaimer
High Protein Kitchen always wants to hear from readers about their experiences making the recipes found on the site via comments and star ratings - hearing from readers is one of the best parts of the job!
With that said, I expect everyone to keep things civil and hurtful or profane language will not be tolerated. Don't be rude, don't be offensive.
If you have feedback for High Protein Kitchen about the site in general, please reach out to leslie at highproteinkitchen dot com instead of leaving a comment or low star rating on specific recipes as that isn't the intended use case for the comments and star ratings, and it's also just not helpful to readers.
Accessibility Disclaimer
High Protein Kitchen will make every effort to meet ADA standards for website accessibility to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to consume and enjoy the content on the site.
However, given the constantly evolving and complex ADA standards and small team at High Protein Kitchen (it's just me!), it may take some time to implement those practices across the state.
Keep sending feedback to leslie at highproteinkitchen dot com about how High Protein Kitchen can improve your experience, but keep in mind those changes may not be immediate or quick to implement. Regardless, a plan will be put in place to implement those changes as quickly as possible.
